Sarah Battle

Using inspiration from tin toys and other ornamental oddities, cats, birds and particularly her small border terrier, Teddy, she creates imagery using a mixture of media including etching, lino printing, monoprinting and collage.

Sarah studied textile design at Camberwell School of Art and went on to the RCA in London, where she gained a distinction in Printmaking. After graduating she went back to the North of England and now lives and works in the Pennine village of Diggle.

She has been part of the textile design group First Eleven Studio since it began in 1987 and her work is sold worldwide for all aspects of surface decoration.
